In 2019 the world wide web turned 30, can you believe it?!

‘Celebrating’ its birthday the creator of the www, Berners-Lee, said: “While the web has created opportunity, given marginalised groups a voice and made our daily lives easier, it has also created an opportunity for scammers … and made all kinds of crime easier to commit.”[1]

That is the truth. How sad?

Over half the world’s population has access to the internet which has created a massive business opportunity for hackers and cybercriminals globally.

The more we depend on the internet, the more appealing it becomes to attackers. From power grids to major corporations, nothing in the world is immune to cyber attacks. All of these functions now rely on the internet.

The most powerful tool we have at our disposal when it comes to cybersecurity is our human firewall.

People, employees, you, me.

Hackers and Cybercriminals can penetrate your system because we allow them to. The time to become aware of the threats is now! The time to train and upskill is now! Don’t wait for an attack, do everything in your power to build a strong defence.

Ensure your workforce is educated when it comes to:

  • Phishing
  • Password Security
  • Data Privacy
  • Mobile Security
  • Social Media

The time for cybersecurity is now!
